Chimanda is an Oulu-based DJ from Northern Finland. She is 1/3 of the electronic music collective Barbitalo, as well as a cultural event producer and dancer.
She is known for performing at underground events and festivals all over Finland. She creates rising energy and blends various genres and moods together with her feminine touch. Her sound moves through techno, latincore, tribal, and trance, always guided by what moves her body and soul.
Chimanda produces her own queer event called Glow (@glow.o.w) full of dance, fashion and performing arts. In addition she is one of the creators behind Frozen People festival — an annual electronic music and art festival held on the frozen sea in the middle of the cold Finnish winter (@frozenpeoplefestival).
Her inspiration comes from her travels, her community, and the deep connection between rhythm, movement, and emotion.
